I'm hooooome! And it's my mom's birthday, and my sister's making a vegan feast, and last night I watched some episodes of White Collar with my brother, who thinks that the Neal-goes-to-college episode is the funniest thing ever.

OKAY SO: I want to do a belated Hannukah thing! I'm starting reeeeally late, so I'll probably post these in mid/late January, but basically: I want to give y'all presents! But I have no money. O.o So I am going to offer WRITING!

Just comment and let me know what you would like to read. (And if you are thinking 'oh, she doesn't mean ME' - if you are on my flist or if we have talked or you have commented or, well, IF YOU'RE READING THIS, then I want to do something nice for you. Really. I like you!)

You can request timestamps, short metas, ficlets, or...anything else that I'm not thinking of (try and keep it to something that could be complete in 2k or less, since the other stories I'm working on are all epics!). You can look through my tags to see all of the fandoms I've written in - the only ones not on there are Shakespearean and Euripidean drama. I'll pick out eight (assuming there are more than eight requests) that I think I can finish in the time limit, and post them over eight days when I get them finished.

I've never done this before, so if any of this doesn't make sense, please let me know!!!

I know you're writing me a splendorous Roman A/U with all sorts of goodies, so I am hesitant to ask for another thing. But if you are so inclined...bootkink, and Peter makes Neal "ride" his boot. You know the kind, the really high ones that the Coldstream Guards wear when they are a'riding. Maybe a riding crop to urge him on?

Happy belated Hannukah! I actually haven't celebrated it yet - we'll be doing latkes and candles sometime between Christmas and New Year's. We're a hodge-podge family...

The Roman!AU is...I am actually not going to say 'historical AU,' because it's more like a Spartacus: Blood and Sand AU than anything based on real history. It's going to have Neal with a real collar and lots and lots and lots of sex. And Peter with a sword. That maybe he uses to fuck Neal. I AM HAVING FUN.

I would love some meta on how much you, and other directors, know and feel that you should know about the conditions under which Shakespeare's plays were first written, performed, and printed.

For instance, when you hear great directors and actors going on about how every comma in the First Folio version of play X must be respected, for it is Truth, do you roll your eyes? (Or is it a mystery to you that I do?) If you were directing a major production of something first printed in quarto, would you read that version too as part of your preparation? (And can you/should you be able to read comfortably in old spelling?) Do you think "bad" quartos have anything to teach us? In related ideas, to what extent are the different contributions of ivory-tower academics and actual stage-strutting actors valuable additions to scholarship and to actual theatrical productions? If you were having trouble with, say, Measure for Measure, would you prefer to read scholarly papers on the play or to workshop it with actors to figure it out, assuming you only had time to do one or the other? How important do you think it is for actors performing Shakespeare to have a good working knowledge of how blank verse functions? How many, in your experience, do have that knowledge?

I saw this post, I had it open and I was like, "I don't need to request anything, whatever she writes will be awesome and I'll love it" and then I thought of something.

Neal/Peter porn kinking on Peter's wedding ring. Bonus points for Neal licking the finger/ring. Maybe even wearing it at some point (well, with an assumption that there's an /El at the end of that, whether or not she's actually in the fic, otherwise I don't know that Peter would be down with that).

I have a hand!kink in general, and I have super thing for men's wedding rings (this may or may not have something to do with me being usually attracted to married men -- my bad). Peter/Tim is no exception to this.

Most of the O3 fics tend to give us the assumption that in some way Neal has given up his felonious ways by the time or as a condition of getting together with Peter or Peter and Elizabeth. I'd like to see one where he hasn't, where he uses them for something he thinks is harmless, but they don't and they all have to deal with it. Maybe they throw him out when they find out and the effect this has on him changes him. Maybe Peter and Elizabeth are somehow hurt, ala Out of the Box, because of Neal's actions. Whatever Neal tries to do or get is author's choice but he has to know that it could hurt both Peter and Elizabeth but he really thinks that they'll overlook it and they'll live happily ever after. It's up to Neal to find a way to make it up to them, to fix things.
