This is as gorgeous and lyrical and fabulous as everything you do. I loved everything about it, and I would leave a more coherent comment but...but I can't. The way you build them up and break them down, MY GOD. Beautiful.
Not to mention the overwhelming emotional arc of this story, and the sheer skill with which you weave that part of it together. I know we joke about, uh, you being angst and me being puppies and rainbows, but it really is incredible, the way you take their emotions and make them come alive. Every reaction in this entire series is spot on, and especially in this one. Elizabeth being the one to shatter it...of course. Peter's anger when Neal asks to give him a handjob, and his almost-fear when Neal kisses him, and the LIST. And god, Neal's internal dialogue with himself, the battle between his honest feelings and his almost pathological need to hide them. And the ending couldn't be better, or more realistic, or more exactly right.
I'm ridiculously excited to see how this wraps up, and I am so impressed, and YAY, the end.
