This whole fic has the impact of a punch, but it's the last line that really knocks you out. Wow.

I have to say, this is my Reboot Kirk, too, which makes me love it even more. This damaged, broken, angry, vulnerable, self-loathing survivor is how I see Jim Kirk in the new movie, and it's why I find him so interesting. His entire story is changed, and yet he is still recognizably James Kirk. But it's the differences, the ones that appear in this fic, that I find fascinating.
