I'm going to post two comments, this one before I even read one word of the porn, because once I do, I'll forget what I was going to say about your FB faux pas, and that is dude, you are human!!!! I mean, it sucks. I think I cringed in helpless empathetic agony for you, because who hasn't been there?! I sure the hell know I have. Case in point:
About a month ago, a fellow student posted in the discussion board that she couldn't possibly write a 3,000 word paper on two of the novels in the class. That she'd written 1,200 words and writing any more would just be adding meaningless fluff. On top of this, she claimed not to be able to find the instructor's email address. So I lost it all over her ass, told her if she couldn't FIND THE TEACHER'S EMAIL, in the SYLLABUS, at the TOP OF THE PAGE or write a short paper about two BIG ASS BEAUTIFUL NOVELS, she was going to have a bitch of a time in college and it was an insult to the rest of us.
I then clicked on a post farther down where she said this was all pretty much because she'd had to put her cat down THAT DAY and was DESTROYED by it.
I felt like the biggest piece of horse shit ever. So I apologized.
But then I realized, she would have said that same FUCKING thing even if her cat had lived. And even if she hadn't, I did apologize. What I had to come away with was just that yes, I want to be the best person I can be and most of the time that means responding rather than reacting and trying to stay out of a place of judgment and trying to be compassionate and know we are all one. But sometimes, because I am human, I am going to open a can of rabid weasels on someone and go against everything I believe.
You said this: "I'm not her, I don't know what's going on in her head, I am only in control of my own life." And that is so true. You made a mistake, you took responsibility for it. That is where your responsibility ends, and you are not responsible for her feelings or her reaction. Plus, maybe we are all here to learn this shit with each other anyway...to help each other learn how to decide who we're going to be in any given moment. And now she has that opportunity, which is actually a real gift, even if she doesn't see it that way.
And I'm glad you shared it here, because it's always good to know that we are all human and at different times have the capacity to be both angels for and to one another and then total dipshits. (Which you are not!!!)
