Question: what the hell is the timeline on that first 2 months? Was the bank gig his first day out of prison? If not, where did he stay before going back to June's?

I was really, really worried about how they were going to handle Neal's grief while keeping the USA 'blue sky' theme going - I think they handled it beautifully. 

PETER & MOZ ARE MY NEW FAVORITES.

To answer your question about where Neal stayed, it sounds like Neal was in a motel again. June says something about how she couldn't bear the thought of him living at a hotel when he could come stay with her.

June would have sent him clothes once he got out. -pet pets Neal-

As for the music box: I suspect Diana and Peter pulled a fast one on the FBI. They didn't want the bad guys to have their hands on it, right? Peter must have figured that if whatever is in it is worth killing for, they needed to keep it away from the Big Bad FBI guy.

That's my theory, at least. :-D I can't imagine that Diana is evil.

I didn't get the impression that Neal was in a hotel--I think June was saying that she didn't want him to end up there. I suspect that Neal was in prison for that two months while Peter kept working and working to get their old deal back.

I agree that Peter and Diana are probably working together on the music box. No evil Diana!

Ok, the WC writers confirmed that Neal was in prison for those two months. Here's what they said on twitter:

". . . paperwork for the FBI can take tim--Burke is lucky if a deal with Caffrey can be made in 2 months given the mysterious jet boom."

I am okay - just had a down couple of days, nothing big. Work's a bitch and a half, but that ain't new either (plus, I'm only going to be there one more month!).
