Okay. Going to start collecting hot/awesome/well-written White Collar fics. First one:

"Wear My Ring," BDSM - Neal wears Peter's ring all day. community.livejournal.com/collarkink/516.html

Second one: "Distance and Consent" Hurty-wonderful. community.livejournal.com/collarkink/516.html

Another HOT, dirty, wrong one: Prompt: Neal is captured by Bad!Guys, who torture him (sexually, please?) and send the footage/stream it live to the office. Humiliated!Neal who doesn't want them to see it, they have to watch it to get clues...community.livejournal.com/collarkink/516.html

Oh hey, thanks for your response!

That makes a lot of sense to me, and also you and your partner sound pretty amazing. :D I think my response tends to be different because my personal story is different; a bunch of different things led me to realize that I'm bi. I agree that if Peter wasn't out in the first place, it would be really difficult to come to terms with being bi -- and I think in some ways it's harder for bi men, when most people think of bi men they think of someone kind of flamboyant like David Bowie, not just a regular guy (as much as I would love to be David Bowie, but I digress). And I like how you have Peter fumbling over "homosexual... uh, homosexual relations." I could totally see him doing the little crinkly not-quite-blushing thing he does.

And hi! I'm Sarah. :)

Hi Sarah! Is that your pic? If so, you are just adorable!

Did I read somewhere you were poly? I was, with Satina and her husband, for three years. :-) We met writing XF fanfic in 2001.

I appreciate your explanation. I do think we all create the characters a bit differently based on our own experiences. For instance, since I'm a completely jealous person, I don't write OT3, even though I can so see that! I'm not naturally poly; I did it for the love of one amazing woman. But I'm also, and will forever be, best friends with her ex-husband. It's why I love El as supportive but not involved with the both of them.

It's great to meet you! Feel free to come peruse the Mulder/Krycek if you feel so inclined! See you around the meme otherwise. :-)

Hi, Sarah and Shannon! (Awkwardly cuts in...)

I've had positive (albiet shortlived) poly experiences, and have never run into jealousy issues personally. So my default is an equally-balances OT3, although I don't have a great Elizabeth voice yet. I dunno. Really interesting to hear y'alls experiences and how they affect your writing!!!

Yeah, being jealous/possessive to the point of rage in a threesome makes it hard to get into threesome fic. ;-) Not because I didn't dearly love the third, as I dearly love El, but I'm just not wired to share. I worked and worked on it, but I've gotten to where I realize I'm just not built for the poly life, though I deeply respect and honor it as an evolved and very loving choice. :-)

*steps aside to let hoosierbitch cut in*

Yep, that's me. Thanks. :)

Hee, it is funny and a little weird to meet people on LJ and realize that they already know stuff about you. :D Especially since I'm guessing you learned that I was poly from the thread about Elizabeth on fanficrants where I was in a crappy mood and kind of out of line in retrospect. Sorry about that!

And yeah, poly is not for everybody. :) Threesomes are pretty much my favorite thing ever, but I know people for whom the whole idea is one big nightmare, and I totally get that, too. It is definitely complicated sometimes. I love fics that deal with the emotional tensions and difficulties that go into that kind of relationship, not just the fun parts.

One thing I like in this fandom is that the majority seems to prefer to have either OT3 or Peter/Neal and Peter/Elizabeth with Elizabeth being okay with it -- not cheating on her or leaving her out. In my last fandom, the most popular "solution" to a character in a popular slash pairing being in a canon relationship with a woman was to break up the canon couple in like two sentences and then move on to the slash... I was not so much a fan of that.

I don't know what fanficrants is and that's okay by me. ;-) I'm sure if they go back far enough I'm featured there assing out.

No, it was somewhere else and you were eloquent and cool.

Yeah, the great thing about writing slash in XF fandom is that, up until literally the very last episode in 9 years, there is no het coupling! I wrote Mulder/Scully before I wrote Mulder/Krycek, so there was tension and stuff, but once I was turned to the slash side...for me now there's no comparison. And yeah, no poor woman I have to boot away from her husband. ;-)

El is such a generous, loving, caring, secure sweetheart. I don't want to boot her. She's actually a LOT like Satina's ex, too, that way (except that she's a woman). But as for action, I definitely just want Peter/Neal. But that's me, and I can so see others shipping all three.
