hoosierbitch: (3 Yay!)
[personal profile] hoosierbitch
Didn't get the computer until today--wasn't at the house for Fri delivery and the UPS store doesn't have weekend hoursa. But I rescued my baby from the Big Bad UPS Store this morning, AND NOW WE ARE BEST FRIENDS. I've tweaked and cleaned and uninstalled and installed and drooled and bookmarked and now life is perfect.

I ended up naming my phone Pasha (the gorgeous Russian ballroom dancer from Season 3 of SYTYCD), because he's always there for his partners, and I'm naming the netbook Melanie. Those of you watching the current season of SYTYCD will know why. :D

HERE SHE IS:

11.5" screen, already touch-typing pretty smoothly on the keyboard, and now I can comfortably type lying down. *DIES* With my back, being able to lie down and write is a serious boon.

COMPLETELY UNRELATED: I watched Where the Wild Things Are over the weekend, and it hit me on a more personal level than any other movie ever has. If you have ever felt lonely, out of place, different--you will like this movie. I wish I'd seen this movie when I was a kid, and am glad that I've gotten to see it now.

GONNA GO SEE MY FRAT BOY BRO: I'm going to go see my brother in MN this week! No plane, because of moneys, so I am taking Megabus! I'll be on a bus most of the day Thursday, then chill with my bro for the weekend, and back on the bus Monday (I'll be playing [livejournal.com profile] firewhiskeyfic from my brother's apartment. It will be extra epic).

Now: get over writer's block and write some motherfucking porn on this motherfucking netbook.

CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay new pretty! *pets it*

And I loved Where The Wild Things Are. It was so much more than a kid's movie. I found it very profound and affecting.

Go corrupt that netbook with the filthiest of writings!

I wouldn't worry about it! I'd save my laptop in a fire. I'm assuming the BF could find his own way out. *not ashamed*

You should TOTES do firewhiskeyfic! I know Elr and rabidchild are planning on playing, too--there's gonna be a whole White Collar posse out! They'll probably be drinking fancy drinks, tho. I'mma stick with my rum-and-diet-coke-please.

First of all, cute computer.

Second of all, YES TO ALL SYTYCD REFERENCES!! PAAAAAAASHA!!!!!

MELANIE IS THE BEST DANCER EVAH!

/casplock

Man, this season is so difficult because as much as I love Melanie - and I do - I also really adore Sasha! I feel like I can't even vote since I'm so torn. Lady Gaga's judging was my favorite part of this season, though. I thought she was bright, constructive, and on point. And she's so sweet when she shows her personality. (I just bought a fern with fuzzy purple leaves and named it Lady Gaga since I <3 her so much.)

/Gaga fangirling

Cat Deeley makes that whole show sparkle. I think without her I'd have stabbed Nigel and/or Lil C in a fit of rage. I'm also glad Mia Michaels is gone. I've never liked her since she was so shitty to Brandon in season 5.

It was also awesome to see Janette come back, don't you think? She was my absolute favorite next to Brandon, and she was full-on robbed that year...

aaaand, I just realized I've spammed your journal with my Dance ravings, but it's just so nice to know that someone else loves it enough to name their gear after it that I just couldn't help myself! lol

I LOVE SYTYCD SO MUCH! Ovation's rerunning all of Season 6 right now, too--OH, JACOB. ♥

I loved Lady Gaga! Didn't know how I'd feel about her as a judge, but she was definitely my favorite of the season. She signed her shoes for Melanie and Sasha after the show. (...I may be following them all on twitter.)

And as much as I love Melanie (and holy fuck, do I love Melanie) this season is just not doing it for me. The judges critiques are hardly ever negative/constructive, a lot of the choreography's just not good, and the male dancers SUCKED. Some of the pieces blew me away (all of Melanie's and most of Sasha's), but it seems kind of generic/bland. I miss the African jazz and the disco and MORE BALLROOM.

CAT DEELEY! I feel like she knows who I am. She's so bright and TALL and funny and sweet and TALL.

Yeah, I liked Mia more before she started guest judging, and all I knew about her was her choreo.

So lovely to sea Jeanette again! What a firecracker. :-) I also have a hopeless crush on Robert Roldan, so every time he's around I just squee like a crazy.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Man, I need a Deeley icon...

Thanks! It makes me happy, 'cause, like, today me and Melanie are going to the bookstore and then me and Melanie are going to the cafe and when we're at the cafe we're going to write porn together.

My fantasy life, it is v. fulfilling...

If Melanie writes porn as good as she dances, we are all in for unspeakable awesomeness.

That just rocks the house. :-D And if that's your hand (of course it is!), your thumb says that you are very open-minded. (For some reason, I know this about thumbs. That slight backward bend means open-mindedness.) Also, it's for whatever reason I cannot pin down squee-worthy that you photographed your netbook...ON YOUR OWN PAGE. FTW. :-)

Because the first entry says "'Sup, folks!" So it's like saying hi! Is why I did it. Er, but now maybe it seems narcissistic. O.o OH WELL.

Back-up idea for photo was the desktop background, which is Neal and Peter (the lean-against-the-wall pic) which Lita put together for me and is pretty.

Why, I AM openminded! GOOD JOB, HANDS.
