If you're looking for perspective, just think about how many people really get a chance like what you're getting-- especially to follow their passions. It sounds like not that many.
And I totally wish my distraction was to write porn. :( I get too *distracted* and can't write. (although I'm still trying-- stuck with lucky 13, dammit.)
