I've never done an LAS activity before--it looks like fun! I could do with some boundary-pushing in my writing. I'm also looking forward to it because hopefully, it'll keep me writing during the school year.

And also because I AM COMPETITIVE. BRING IT ON, BITCHES.

I'm taking six classes this semester, directing a show, preparing for my thesis in the Spring, applying for jobs for next year, and ideally I'll stage manage/act in at least one more show on top of that. Which is...ridiculous. But voluntary. There are a lot of great classes offered this semester (including on on feminism and the media, I AM SO EXCITED). I'm hoping that things like whitecollarlas and ficfinishing will help me get writing done this semester. I also hope that I do not die. O.o

I'm spending tomorrow at home, soaking in the love and tension of family, then driving back up to TinyTown on Friday! I was talking to elrhiarhodan about how the time's kind of flown by--I was just starting to dip my toes into fandom at the same time I was applying for grad school programs.

I FEEL ALL GROWN UP.

I'm going to go work more on the dyslexia!verse. I'm bad at planning and good at procrastinating, so what I did was I posted the first chapter of the sequel, hoping that having it out in the world would make me write the concluding part faster.

That did not work.

What I want to do is go back and radically change the last part of Alright Is Two Different Words, then I've got one chapter about ready to go, and I Have A Plan for the part after that (which would be the third and last chapter of 'Alright'). It feels unkosher to take back something that I already published, but. BUT I HAD A BETTER AND SADDER IDEA. IT INVOLVES GOO AND FEELINGS.

(ALSO I FOUND THE ICON OF MY HEART. cookielaura MADE IT. I NOW LOVE HER. AND CAT!NEAL'S ANKLET. I WANT TO EAT HIM WITH A SPOON...)

6 graduate level classes? Is that even possible? The credit distribution is probably different for every graduate program. I took3 classes (9 credits) a semester and finished in 4 semester and that seemed to be the norm. I hope you complete your degree soon, it sounds like it has been a lot of work.

I have shied away from writing contests in the past, but I might try this one because I don't have to worry as much about disappointing the prompter as much. I wonder how long I would last.

Well, two of the courses are less credit (one's 1, one's 2 cred), but the usual course load is 4. I think I can pull this off, though--I'll reevaluate when I get all the syllabuses...syllabi? I don't have to take all these classes, I just want to (they're really cool!).

I hope you sign up! It seems low-pressure, and the anon thing makes it seem less competitive, somehow.

I wouldn't worry about changing the ending of Alright is two different words. I mean, it's a WIP, I think people area ware that there's a risk a few things might have to be retconned! Actually, I think it's kind of cool, because that way I get to read two different versions. Mostly I just really want to read words in the dyslexia verse that I haven't read so often I can recite them by heart. Because it's my faaaavorite.
