H/C BINGO!!!!

Okay, so, the deadline for hc_bingo isn't until December, so I'm not being THAT crazy, signing up for two bingos at once. Probably. I think. And kink_bingo lets you post until next summer (with a 'post SOMETHING' deadline in August) so, really, it's absolutely doable. Ish. I CAN TOTALLY DO THIS.

IT IS H/C BINGO. THERE IS NO WAY I AM NOT PLAYING.

See, okay. Because, like, here's the thing.

The one kink of mine that I haven't really talked about on here (but that you've probably already figured out!) is hurt/comfort. Er, well - I've talked about it as a genre, but not so much about it as a kink. And it is a real, honest-to-god kink for me. And not just a narrative kink, not just a genre preference - good h/c makes me CLENCH. Vulnerability, insecurity, emotional pain, angst - when done right - makes my lady parts go WHEE! Gimme someone cowering in a corner, whipped and terrified, and my body just goes UNF. I don't know why. BUT IT DOES. 

THIS IS LIKE HAVING TWO KINK BINGOS. AT THE SAME TIME.

This is my card! I will probably try and do a horizontal line through the center (self-harm, bites, wild card, burns, and loss of voice). But I will keep coming back to this card until the deadline. Because, like. Dude. Imprisonment? Isolation? SEXUAL EXTORTION? I LIKE.

I know I, like, JUST did a prompt drive. BUT I WOULD LOVE SOME MORE. (BTW - if you feel like you still have kinky prompts you want to share, that post is here - I will keep using those prompts for inspiration until I've gotten to a black-out!) 

I realized, when reposting my work to AO3, that the vast majority of my work comes from other people's prompts. I can't promise to write for a specific prompt (sometimes I do promise and then FAIL, because I'm still sort of feeling out how my writing process works, and, well,sometimes I just suck). But odds are, the fics that I do write will come from these prompts.

This is genius. I failed hard at kink bingo, but this is definitely right up my street.

I write better from other people's prompts too, I think. I have been thinking about this a lot for con.txt, even though I'm mostly supposed to talk about rarepairs, because I think it's got the same base cause. I like the problem-solving aspect of writing. The 'ok so I've got this guy, that guy and a sentient hatstand, how can I make that work?'

But I feel guilty for not writing prompts I am directly given, which is why I <3 kink memes so much.

Thank you for directing my attention to h/c bingo. I am totally going to go wallow in the cliche list for a bit and then sign up (after I finish what I am working on, of course, because I am a good girl, no really, oh okay just a little peek.

I've never really thought about rarepairs that way - that's kind of fascinating, actually. I got someone for remix who wrote primarily Neal/June, and I did kind of approach the pairing from that pov, too. And I really enjoyed the process.

AND THE GUILT. I totally feel you. Sometimes I have, like, a whole plan for a prompt, and then it just DIES when I try and write it down, and then I feel like a HORRIBLE PERSON. Which is why kink memes are lovely.

I would really like to see you do something with insanity or brain damage -- either one I think you would take an interesting look at and really make it chillingly real!

Because whumping Neal makes me happy <3 I think doing something with him related to those would be especially chilling because he's so smart and then to have his mind fail him - the one thing that has always been there- would be devastating not only to him as he realized it happening but to Peter and Mozzie and whoever else you want to write around him.

It could be as cliched as Neal getting kidnapped and tortured/abused and unable to hang on to his sanity in the face of it temporarily - or it could be illness/accident related (bonus if peter can construe it as his own fault even if it's not).

I am also really excited to see your take on Selfharm - there is so much that can be done here and I think you could do so much with that prompt <3 (wow it would work for anyone really <3 but I am so selfish I want to read it about neal or bryce or arthur(for a twist) <3 )

Also one more thing <3 I think bites would be fun if it was an animal bite or sting -- hornet or wasp allergy can be disasterous and frightening for everyone involved, animal attacks or bites can be upsetting and scary and brutal depending on what animal. I mean look at the Merlin fandom with all those crazy magical creatures all kinds of bites are possible :D

Prompt: Sexual extortion to protect someone else

Neal is forced to have sex with someone (your choice) to protect Peter from being blackmailed about their relationship. When Peter finds out what Neal has done, he's livid and oddly touched at the same time. :D

Or, you know, something like that but even more awesome. It sounded better in my head. :)

Sexual extortion for secrets (high school) should work if they might be high school age, or in a high school like social circle, right? So... Merlin/Arthur? Merlin/Lancelot under threat of telling Arthur about magic? Lancelot/Arthur? Gwen/Merlin? Nimueh/Merlin? I think it could be cool if Arthur bottoms (your pref) but he is the extorter. Or maybe Gwen/Merlin or Morgana/Merlin or Lancelot/Merlin blackmail Arthur into joining them by threatening to tell everyone that Arthur is a virgin?

For Merlin, Arthur suddenly getting wings would be great. His own father will hate him, he'll never be king, etc. Merlin could comfort him by laughing at him for being so angst-ridden about it and insisting that Arthur fly him around on his back. That's right, Merlin really wants to ride him.

For hallucinations: Dark Angel, Alec could have hallucinations that he murdered Logan (established relationship Logan/Alec with Rachel!trauma). Or, Neal could take some new synthetic drug while he is undercover, and Peter has to help him as he sees all sorts of disturbing things. (If in the mood for crackiness, he could see the characters in famous paintings and sculptures talking to him. Maybe they yell at him for wasting his genius or something silly. ) Or his hallucination could be horrible angst. That's fun too :)

Dude, you know what I want to see in Neal!amnesia. I want it BAD.
If you want to do something different.... I guess maybe it could be that Logan has amnesia, but he learns how to be Eyes Only from his files, but then he doesn't remember his live-in partner Alec, and Logan sleeps with Alec and tries to be how he was, but Alec is SOOO distraught that the only person who he trusted NOT to think of him as a nameless interchangeable supersoldier, now has no memory of who Alec is as an individual. Plus, Logan keeps asking REALLY insensitive questions, because he knows the facts about Alec's history from his files but he doesn't really UNDERSTAND. So anyway, Logan has amnesia but is coping as well as can be expected, but Alec is wrecked and needs the comfort.

Dark Angel is also a really good choice for social ostracism, bullying, insanity.


If you want to do Peter needing comfort, brain damage that leaves him the same except with very specific limited functions could be really good if it didn't change Peter's cognitive functioning in everyday situations but it made him unable to be an FBI field agent (maybe can't shoot a gun, or reflex time, or something else). And maybe the situation that caused it, plus his new loss of a specific cognitive function, leave him thinking that he can no longer protect the people he cares about, and that means everything to him. Neal shows him that there are more ways than that for Peter to protect Neal. Possibly with magic healing sex. Or you know, with character growth and communication. The magic healing sex sounds like more fun though.... You could also do this but with Neal getting something that doesn't affect his cognitive functions EXCEPT the ability to read the emotions revealed by facial expressions (that's a very specific skillset I think), and so Neal can do brilliant work but he can't con or charm, and he is devastated. Then sex.

Side note (tldr):
Okay, I'm going to be a jerk and do that thing where I ask if someone has seen Show X, and Show X is is the greatest show, and since I love your fic I obviously am selfishly hoping if you ever saw Show X while it was on you will write fic since there can never be enough Show X fic.

Yes, I know. I'm being one of those super-annoying fans. BUT it is a show whose main characters are all about the Oedipus complex. Where the showrunner has said that he envisioned the Oedipal conflict as the central tension of the show. And there is constant angst. It is like one really long hurt-comfort fic, except that sometimes the characters have to struggle really hard to figure out how to comfort and sometimes they fail. Also, killer robots. Yeah, Sarah Connor Chronicles. Total Oedipus ripoff but in the best possible way. Just wondering if you've seen it, and if you have, would you ever write fic for it? Cool if no, just wondering.

I'm watching The Big Bang Theory and finishing the fourth season of Dexter right now, but I'll try and watch SCC next! Ok, since Hurt!Peter is really not your thing, I offer other brilliant annoying ideas for you to look at:

Self-harm: This obviously screams Neal, but it would be awesome if Peter (or El!!!) figures out that Neal is purposely cutting/burning himself, and they share with him their own struggle with the desire to inflict harm.

I love angsty angsty angst, so something like past sexual abuse as a child or alcoholic parents for Peter or El that led to them cutting would be a bonus.

Bites: Here's one that could go well for Peter, if you DO want to do something with him. Someone bites him as he's wrestling them to the ground. It turns out they have a disease that can be transmitted through biting (rabies, anthrax, etc.) that Pete needs immediate emergency treatment for.

And then there can be healing sex. Wooo.

And er...I have an idea but it wouldn't REALLY work for H/C, I don't think, but I'd love to see it: Elizabeth is sick/injured and is sort of depressed.

Peter and Neal cheer her up with a 'show'. Whatever kinks you want, use. I'd just love for Peter and Neal to perform specifically to make El happy. :-D

Loss of voice: Neal is attacked while he's undercover. He gets put in a bad sleeper-hold, and when he's released (up to you if he passes out) his vocal chords are damaged.

Peter has to take care of his boy and make sure he understands that even if his voice doesn't come back, he still wants him as much. They'll make things work, and Peter shows him how.

Ok, so those are my really dumb ideas. Maybe they will inspire you to write something. :-D And I'm peachy keen if they don't. :-)

"Wings (sudden onset)" sounds like a sickness. He suddenly came down with a case of wings. We will attempt to cure him. Treatment may cause molting. *giggles* I can't even imagine which poor character you'll torture this with. Maybe Kirk? And then Bones has to "treat" him? IDEK.

I kinda like werewolf stories. Have you read the epic amazing ST story with werewolf!Bones from the kink meme? If not I will dig it up and send you a link. But I'd kind of like to see Peter or Neal as a werewolf. Many an AU, where Peter's so good at tracking down Neal because he has a werewolf nose? And he's super strong and possessive during sex. And the pack could be the FBI, or maybe just Neal and El.

Imprisonment. Peter and Neal have sex while Neal is still in prison. It's like a conjugal visit.

Brain damage makes me sad. ;____;

I just saw a link to this while I was looking at your Kink Bingo. It's probably too late for me to sign up; moreover, I haven't been able to write anything in the longest time. (Damn you, mental illnesses! I used to be so fucking prolific; now I'm just fucking useless. Admittedly, my most productive periods are when I'm hypomanic, so the crazy can help as well as hurt. It's just been exclusively focused on the latter lately.) But I have loads and loads of ideas, if you want them at any point.

Plus, given my experience with the subjects, I can certainly help with the insanity one or the self-harm thing. I hope you decide that you don't want to do self-harm, however, as it's very hard for me to read those stories. If you really want to do it, of course, go for it. As I said, I'd even provide advice to make sure it stays realistic, if you were inclined to take it.

Crazy!Neal, on the other hand, is an idea of which I totally approve. Although, at least for bipolar disorder, the age of onset is usually earlier, it isn't always. So we need not put him through trauma to make him crazy; it could just happen, without any specific trigger. (To back me up, here's a quote from NIMH: "Bipolar disorder often develops in a person's late teens or early adult years. At least half of all cases start before age 25. Some people have their first symptoms during childhood, while others may develop symptoms late in life.") But naturally it's totally up to you; you could skip the insanity box altogether, or, after choosing it, write it very differently from what I've described. I'm sure I will enjoy whatever results, so long as it is accurate with the abnormal psychology stuff (which I am sure that it will be)!

OKAY I WILL STOP RAMBLING NOW.

In short: I can't wait to see what you come up with for this bingo thing, and am presumptuously offering my help with anything crazy-related, if that's one of the things that you choose.
